You must have a library card to borrow materials.

How do I access your databases and other library resources?

You must have a library card to borrow materials and to access the databases from home. Databases may be accessed without a library card inside the library.

How may I get a library card?

If you live in Brattleboro, a library card may be obtained by presenting one form of identification with your residential address. If you live outside of Brattleboro, a card may be purchased for $48.00 per year/$25.00 for 6 months. Extra cards may be purchased for $5.00.

How many items may I take out on my card?

You may charge out as many books as you like. There are limits on: new books (6),magazines (6), videos (6),audio cassettes (6), and DVD's (1). Other limits may apply, please ask at the Circulation Desks.

How long may I keep the materials?

Most items may be kept them for 28 days. Adult new books are charged out for a period of 14 days as well as DVD's.

What are the fines for overdue items?

The fines are $.15 per day, per item.

May I renew my own materials and place holds for items that are "CHECKED OUT"?

Yes! You may place holds for materials that are checked out. After you have found an item that is checked out, click on the HOLD button and login to your account. To renew materials login to your account and follow the instructions for renewals.

Items with pending holds may not be renewed.
